The contents of the SmartGrids monitor has been and will be collected, sorted and evaluated by the SmartGrids ERA-Net members and in particular the Swiss Federal office of Energy within the work carried out in ERA-Net WorkPackages 3 and 4. The SmartGrids monitor environment (Web based solution development and services) is funded by BACHER ENERGY LTD.

Smart Grids Initiatives in Europe - Country Snapshots and Country Fact Sheets

The Smart Grids Country Snapshots have been composed together with the ‘Smart Grids Country Fact Sheets’ to a Brochure which has been published at the Smart Grids Week 2011 Conference in Linz, Austria (24.-27.05.2011).



2ND SMARTGRIDS ERA-NET JOINT CALL RESULTS

The 2nd SmartGrids ERA-Net call was published 15 January 2011 as a collaboration between the following agencies: the Research Council of Norway, Energinet.dk, the Swiss Federal Office of Energy, the Basque Government and The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey. The Nordic Energy Research was in charge of the coordination of the call and the evaluation-procedure.

The first stage of the Joint Call received 7 pre-proposals. After the first evaluation, 5 applicants were invited to present a full proposal. The final decision was announced on July 7nd 2011 after an international peer review.

The ERA-Net will support a total of 3 projects with the participation from Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, Basque Country and Turkey.

Projects selected for funding are shown in the tables below.

1. BPES - Optimal sizing and control of balancing power in the future European system considering transmission system constraints

2. IHSMAG- Integrating households in the smart grids

3. PRO-NET - Protection of power electronically interfaced LV distributed generation networks

The total budget of the project= 975.000 €. SmartGrids ERA-NET funding = 858.500 €


RELEVANT DOCUMENTS FOR JOINT CALLS
The Smart Grids ERA-Net is actively cooperating with existing smart grids initiatives such as the SET-plan/EU Electricity Grid Initiative (EEGI) and the European Technology Platform (ETP). In the upcoming call, projects are encouraged to contribute to the fulfilment of the EEGI-roadmap or the ETP-strategic research agenda.
